Different teas taste quite differently and if the combination isn’t right, the blend isn’t successful.
Thus today popular blends of tea can be viewed as the work of arts for the blenders must work to not only brings the tastes but also the textures and the colors of different teas together. There must have been lots of trials and errors. Creating new blends can be the work of tea lovers as well as tea sellers. In the business world, one of the important things is to have a constant supply of the goods that you are selling.

If not, you can easily lose your customers to your competitors. Thus, tea sellers must make sure that they always have large quantity of different teas stocked on the shelves. However, there is one problem. Tea is a seasonal commodity. Different kinds of tea are available at different time of the year. So to keep the supply constant, tea sellers have to rely on different blends of tea.

What they would do is to obtain a large selection of teas. They would have to create a tea catalog to create different blends of tea. The important thing is to be able to create a blend using several different combinations of teas.

For example, a seller creates blend A, B, and C that give similar taste. If one of the tea from A is unavailable during a period of time, he can switch to blend B or C so to keep his customers satisfied. This isn’t cheating. It’s just a extension of the supply and demand rule in business.

Flavored tea blending…

Often, people would blend different kinds of tea together using strong teas like Darjeeling or Ceylon tea as the tea bases. But gradually, they want to expand the varieties of tea blends by including flavored blends using fruits, flowers, and herbs.

Some of the common ingredients for flavored tea blends include jasmine blossoms, rose petals, ginger, and lychee fruit. These ingredients are added to dry with tea so their fragrance can be added on to the tea leaves. If not using real fruits and flowers petals, the manufacturers can use natural extract to spray on the tea leaves to produce the same effects.

There are different blends of flavored tea in the market. If you want to try at blending different teas at home, you can buy individual flavored teas and test some combination. You may even find your own signature blend to wow your family and guests. But keep in mind that blending tea takes a lot of work.

Professional blenders have to taste numerous of different teas and remember each of them in order to create a blend that’s excellent in taste and beautiful in color. But hey, that shouldn’t stop you to take a shot at tea blending. Everything needs luck and luck might just come and knock on the door…
